Keynote | Driving Built Environment Innovation from the Top Down: A C-Suite Perspective
Identifying and implementing innovation in the built environment is not easy. Historically, technological innovation has been introduced by middle management executives from IT as well as other departments. There have been rare occasions where senior leadership has been the driving force behind transformative innovation. In other industries, such as financial services, executive leaders have fully embraced technological innovation and integrate it into their overall business strategies.
When the innovation mandate comes from the top and is consistently executed over long periods of time the changes are truly transformational. Brett Hitt, Co-Chairman of HITT Contracting, is the type of senior level executive that can deliver transformational change not just to his company but to the industry at-large. HITT Contracting is an award-winning construction company and is ranked among the top 50 General Contractors nationwide and is determined to bring big changes to the industry.
The construction process and all its opportunities for improvement are top of mind but the innovation does not stop there. In addition to improving how its built, Brett is making sure that their new corporate HQ represents “state of the art” globally. An extraordinary solar canopy, 3D printed furniture, a DC power infrastructure, use of robotic automation, an innovation lab, smart building technologies, and immersive experiences are all part of this groundbreaking story.
Brett will share his thoughts on the future of their HQ building as well as the company's journey into transformational innovation. His perspective will key on the significance of having “big change” being driven from the top down as well as the bottom up.

Digital Intelligence: From Information Overload to Strategic Clarity
Real estate firms generate massive volumes of data—but too often, that data remains trapped in disconnected systems, limiting its value. This session explores how a major real multi-asset class commercial real estate owner/developer implemented a unified data strategy that centralized information across departments and surfaced real-time insights. We’ll discuss how digital tools, including AI-powered abstraction and smart analytics platforms, are now unlocking historical records and streamlining performance tracking. We’ll also explore how their leadership teams use intuitive, interactive dashboards to align operations with broader strategic goals. If your organization is ready to evolve from manual reporting to dynamic, data-driven decision-making, this session offers a practical roadmap.
