In today's data-driven world, the commercial real estate industry, the largest global asset class, faces a significant challenge in data literacy due to decades of fragmented, bespoke hardware, and software solutions. Owners can't be expected to understand data they don't even know exists. For the past 30 years, the industry has struggled to break down silos and liberate data and owners. Perhaps this has been the wrong approach – maybe silos are beneficial for organizing functional systems, and what we need is a fresh perspective on data access.IBcon is pleased to announce a new precon event in partnership with the Coalition for Smarter Buildings (C4SB), an organization that empowers building owners with advanced analytics and AI by championing interoperability standards. This nonprofit educates stakeholders to create a future where intelligent decision-making transforms every building.
The new event, Automation ≠ Smart, powered by C4SB, will be held on June 19 from 11:30am to 12:30pm at Tampa Convention Center. In this session, we will examine how existing IT standards, open and available to everyone, can be leveraged to create an enterprise data-access platform and marketplace that unlocks the single largest untapped value in real estate – building data.
