Celebrating 25 Years of PropTech Leaders – The Realcomm Lifetime Achievement Award

Realcomm | IBcon has been presenting the Commercial Real Estate Digital Innovation (Digie) Awards since 1999 to recognize outstanding companies, real estate projects, technologies and the next generation of smart, connected, high-performance, intelligent building systems. The Digies are also awarded to the individuals who have gone "above and beyond" to positively impact our industry and to the innovators who are improving our buildings, portfolios and cities through the application of technology, automation and innovation.

In 2018, the year Realcomm celebrated its 20th anniversary, we decided to create a new award, the Lifetime Achievement. As in many other industries, this award was intended to recognize those individuals who have dedicated a career to a specific mission and in the case of Realcomm, the application of technology to the built environment. That year, 20 individuals were chosen and presented with this award. These are the unsung heroes who laid the groundwork for many companies and individuals focused on PropTech.


The criteria required for this award is stringent and narrows the field quickly. The following describes the requirements to be considered for a Lifetime Achievement Award: 1) A career span of 20+ YEARS focused on real estate, technology or real estate technology; 2) Demonstration of a clear VISION on how technology would strategically impact the industry; 3) Consistently SHARES their time and experience with the community; 4) Willing to take significant RISKS in the name of innovation; and 5) Made a definite, positive IMPACT to the advancement of the commercial and corporate real estate industry through the use of technology, automation and innovation.


Following are the 24 leaders who have received this award. Congratulations to these pioneers for their contributions to positively impacting and furthering our industry!
