Precon: CRE Cybersecurity Forum
June 19 | 8:00 am - 11:30 am | Tampa Convention Center
The evolving geopolitical landscape, along with the rapid advancements of AI technologies, intensify concerns about highly organized ransomware attacks targeting critical real estate and infrastructure assets. Innovative building systems, aimed at enhancing operational efficiencies, add to the complexities of cybersecurity and privacy strategies for the built environment.Smart building technologies, including novel IoT devices and wireless technologies, can pose serious risks and potentially jeopardize the safety and well-being of building occupants if configured incorrectly. With the surge of managed and unmanaged entry points to building data and operational systems, building owners and operators face unique challenges associated with securing smart buildings and facilities. Traditional IT-centric cybersecurity models fall short in addressing the needs of Operational Technology (OT) in smart, connected buildings, necessitating a tailored security strategy.
The CRE Cybersecurity Forum will assess cybersecurity best practices for the built environment and bring together industry thought leaders to address the most pressing cyber threats and OT ransomware attacks building owners and operators face today. The Forum’s agenda will be shaped significantly by the ongoing efforts of the Real Estate Cyber Consortium (RECC), ensuring a focus on the most relevant and impactful issues.
